Featuring fully illustrated examples of several types of homes (prefabricated, rehabilitated, made with natural materials) this volume is divided into three parts that explore alternative methods in the design and construction of residential projects. The first part looks at the three Rs of home construction - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle and how this mantra can be applied to construction projects to create homes that are stylish, affordable, and environmentally friendly. The second part looks at how new and emerging technologies can benefit residential projects, both during construction and as finished homes.
